One very warm summer night a group of young girls ranging from ages seven to ten, listened intently as a ten year old girl told them the story of Jesus Christ. She told of His love and how He died on the cross for them. After hearing this good news of Jesus Christ, Sister Mary's heart was pricked and she accepted Jesus as her personal Saviour at the ripe old age of eight.
As she grew into a young lady she stayed steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord. She prayed for God to send her a husband. She met and later married Pastor William Howard Burton, Sr. They had three sons, William, Jr., James and Brian. She is a loving mother who governs with a determined hand.
As the wife of a pastor and mother of three sons, First Lady is aware, in a very special way, of the unique problems facing those who are called of God into such an honored place of service. She is a faithful pastor's wife who so nobly serves the Lord in her high calling. Although the work of a First Lady can be most satisfying and rewarding, it also involves extremely difficult, trying, discouraging, and disappointing experiences. Sister Mary is successful in this roll; faith and patience are the conquering graces that she cultivates and keep in her daily exercise. She keeps herself hydrated with prayer in the Holy Ghost developing her timing and pace judgment in adjusting to the call of God.
First Lady is an administrative professional recognized for taking a leadership role in support of top management, using technical and interpersonal skills to enhance organizational efficiencies and operations. Her leadership experience comprises training and motivating personnel, team building, and creating an atmosphere of enthusiasm in the workplace. She uses the same skills and zeal working for the Lord.
After satisfactory examination in regard to the Christian experience, call to the ministry, and views of Bible doctrine and upon the recommendation of Rev. W. Howard Burton, Sr. the Senior Pastor of The Father's House, Inc.; Sister Mary was ordained Pastor on August 12, 2007, with full ceremony.
Pastor Mary - First Lady is committed to God and serves with enthusiasm, submitted to her husband, and adores her three sons. She calls herself blessed and is grateful for the privilege to be a servant of Jesus Christ.
