God has a remedy for our sins!
For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures. 1 Corinthians 15:3-4
We can all be saved now:
- Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. (Revelations 3:20)
- For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13)
Confirmation of salvation:
- That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10: 9-13)
Assurance as a believer:
- That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9).
- Most assuredly I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me as everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. (John 5:24)
- These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. (I John 5:13)
- But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name. (John 20:31)
To find forgiveness:
- You must be willing to admit you are sinner in need of forgiveness.
- Turn from your sins.
- Believe that Jesus died to save you from a life of sin and an eternity of separation from God.
- Receive Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and commit your life to Him.
- Please read the following verses in the bible:
- Revelations 3:20 (KJV) - Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
- St. John 1:12 (KJV) - But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.
- Know that:
- Jesus stands at the door of your heart knocking.
- Jesus will come in if He is invited.
- When He does come in you will become His child.
Have you received Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior? Would you like to do so right now? If so, pray one of the following prayers or both.
Prayer #1: Have mercy upon me O God, according to your loving kindness; according to the multitude of Your tender mercies, blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sins. For I acknowledge my transgressions, and my sins are always before me. Against You, You only, have I sinned, and done this evil in Your sight that you may be found just when You speak, and blameless when You judge. Purge me with hyssop and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and uphold me by Your generous Spirit. Confessing to God that I am a sinner, and believing that the Lord Jesus Christ Died for my sins on the cross and was raised for my justification, I do now receive and confess Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour. Amen (Psalms 51:1-4,7,1-11)
Prayer #2: Dear Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and need Your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus died on the cross, paying the penalty for my sins. I am willing to turn from my sins. I now invite Jesus Christ to come into my heart and life as my personal Saviour. I am willing with Your help, to follow and obey Jesus Christ as the Lord of my life. Amen
Praise God! You are now a Christian!
As a new believer, you must trust in the Word of God for assurance of your salvation. Find a good church and attend the bible study. This will help you to learn about Jesus and how to stay a strong Christian. Read your bible every day, and above all, pray. This is just the first step. Jesus said, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my Yoke is easy, and my burden is light." (St. Matthew 11: 28-30) Becoming a Christian is a process, it's a daily dying of ones self. Remember Jesus Christ is our advocate so use Him!
Scriptures to Learn:
All have sinned - For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)
As it is written - There is none righteous, no, not one. (Romans 3:10)
God has a remedy for our sin:
- For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
(Romans 6:23)
- But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God even to those who believe in His name. (John 1:12)
Life of Discipleship:
Essentially Jesus commended to his followers the same type of life he led: selfless obedient to the will of God. He called himself a servant and said that they were to be servants as well. They were to fear nothing not even death. He summed up what their basic attitude was to be by saying, "You shall love the Lord your God above all things and your neighbor as yourself." They were to do good to all people and to carry the message concerning him everywhere. Above all, they were not to be just people who believed certain doctrines. Their obedience was to be active participation in the life of the world.
Paul summed up the characteristics of the individual Christian by saying: "Put on the garments that suit God's chosen people - compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience. Be forbearing with one another, and forgiving. The nature of the individual Christian's obedience and quality of life was generally left to private judgment within these parameters. Christians over the centuries have found a great variety of ways to express their individual faithfulness.
Read the Bible:
The BIBLE contains the mind of God, the state of man, the way of salvation, the doom of sinners, and the happiness of believers. Its doctrines are holy, its precepts are binding, its histories are true, and its decisions are immutable. Read it to be wise, believe it to be safe, and practice it to be holy. It contain light to direct you, food to support you, and comfort to cheer you.
It is the traveler's map, the pilgrim's staff, the pilot's compass, the soldier's sword, and the Christian's charter. Here Paradise is restored, Heaven opened, and the gates of hell disclosed.
Remedy for Salvation:
You, the Christian:
As you begin to grow in the Lord, you will want to tell others about Him and what He is doing for you. With the Holy Spirit as your guide this can be relatively easy. God's Word is like a seed, some plant, some water, but only God can give the increase. (1 Cor. 3:6-9)
Study the scriptures referred to in how to become a Christian. Try to memorize these verses, so you can quote them with confidence. Read the bible daily and underline additional verses you will be able to use in your daily walk. Memorize as many as you can.
Becoming a Christian involves a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. You don't become a Christian by being good, by doing the best you can, or by joining a church, but by personally accepting Jesus as your Saviour and trusting Him as your Lord.
