HOW CAN I PRAY FOR THE CHURCH?
PRAY CONTINUALLY (1 Thess. 5:16-18)
Pray without ceasing. Pray for the church and Pastor throughout the day.
PRAY POWERFULLY (Acts1:8 2:37)
To pray effectively for this church, pray with power. Be filled with the Holy Ghost so that you have the power of God within you, then pray according to God's Word.
PRAY STRATEGICALLY
Begin praying for the people and activities of the church. Pray for anointing for the pastor, for people to get saved each service, for new comers to be drawn to the church, special events, and for relationships to grow. Pray for power as people pray in the Morning Prayer. Pray for the Wednesday Bible Study, and the Friday Praise and Worship service. Pray for growth in the Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. Be aware of all the events and activities occurring in the church and pray for them to succeed.
PRAY GEOGRAPHICALLY
There is great value in physically moving to the places where ministry takes place in the church and praying for people who will be ministered to there. For example, lay hands on every seat in the sanctuary and in the vestibule, and kitchen. Pray over the prayer box. God honors our prayers whether or not we pray geographically, but it will help us when we do it because we gain a better understanding of what to pray for and how to pray.
SAMPLE:
Each day of the week, pray for the following areas first for yourself, and then for the Pastor. Using the Bible references, pray scripture by applying God's Word to your life and to the Pastor's life.
Rest and strength - Psalm 23
Intimacy with God - 2 Corinthians 13:14
Family - Ephesians 4:32
Ministry effectiveness - Ephesians 4:11-13
Obedience to God - Luke 9:23-24
Leadership - Romans 12:6-8
Wisdom - James 1:5
