    PREVENTION IS OUR #1 GOAL!
It would have been far easier to compile the more concrete programs such as parenting, budget management, and nutrition; but it isn't the primary need. Individuals having difficulty in re-entering society, their family lives, their work lives and personal lives struggle with deeper, more ethereal issues. Opportunities for learning the basis for success are often lacking in their experience. Yet, most are ready to learn if given the chance.

CURRENT PROGRAMS

  • Y.A.P.
Youth at Promise for youth with risky behaviors - we introduce Tackling the Tough Skills, and Christian Mentorship.
    • Christian Mentorship - we recruit mentors from local churches to build relationships with youth who need and desire adult friendship. "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me." Philippians 4:13
    • Tackling the Tough Skills - is about people, where they've been, what they've learned, and how they use the information they have.

  • GEMS
The GEMS (Girls Esteem Made to Shine) program will address the needs of teenage pregnancy and prevention through abstinence education, relationship skills training, and building self esteem. Self esteem is a key driver in empowering young woman to make the right decisions for their futures. We want to address the needs of pre-teens, teenagers, and young woman (ages 12-21) who are currently single mothers or ready to become single mothers as well as those who are at risk. Prevention is crucial in order to reduce the number of teen pregnancies - be it a first time occurrence or a single mother at risk for another pregnancy.

If more children in this country were born to parents who are ready and able to care for them, we would see a significant reduction in a host of social problems afflicting children in the United states, from school failure and crime to child abuse.

  • AFTERCARE
Re-entry program for ex-offenders - Our objective is to teach and provide training to create a spirit of enthusiasm that will guide, direct, and channel the potential of Wo-Men transitioning to reach and obtain success.

PROGRAMS IN DEVELOPMENT
  • NATURE'S REALITY
Children ages 5-11 through creative play and exploration will work together in small groups gaining nature awareness and knowledge of plants, mammals, tracking, birds, and survival.
