KAREN COLLIER - AFTERCARE SPECIALIST/VLS INSTRUCTOR

  • Karen taught Sunday school for eight years teaching ages 9-14. Karen worked as a Corrections Officer for the Beaver County jail for seven years, and Gateway Rehab as a Monitor in their DOC Department for four years giving her years of experience with behavioral problems, mental illness, and addictive behavior, learning disabilities, and more. Karen has an Associates degree in Criminal Justice and is pursuing her Bachelors in Behavioral Psychology.

NICOLE CURENTON - BEHAVIOR SPECIALIST/VLS INSTRUCTOR

  • Nicole has eight years of experience tutoring, mentoring, teaching, and counseling youth. She has a BS in Human Services/Education and currently is pursing her Master of Arts degree in Higher Education with the concentration in Teaching. She serves as the Assistant Sunday School Supt., at The Father's House and teaches teens ages 13-17. She worked as Assistant Director of Youth Program for the YMCA. She is a tutor and mentor for the CLAAY program and is a Big Sister for BBBS program. She is a Therapist for children ages 3-17 for Community Alternatives.

LESLIE KIRBY - WEB MASTER/VLS INSTRUCTOR

  • Leslie Kirby graduated from Robert Morris University with a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems. She has 15+ years in corporate with eight of those years working in Information Technology as a web programmer and project leader at NOVA Chemicals. She recently moved from IT into the new business development area as a project manager where she assists the rotomolding team in managing their product portfolio of new applications. Mentoring the youth has always been her aspiration as she led and was involved in mentorship programs both inside and outside the workplace, including being a big sister in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Program and coordinating the City High School mentorship program at work. Her goal is to expand upon that background and work with young girls and teen pregnancy, as she had dealt with being a teen mother herself and feels she can encourage girls to achieve their goals despite their circumstances.

JAMES BURTON - BEHAVIOR SPECIALIST/VLS INSTRUCTOR

  • James is and has been the Sunday School Superintendant for five years at The Father's House in Rochester. James has proven skills in leading teams, building consensus, motivating others to reach their fullest potential. James has an exceptional rapport with youth of all ages, ethnicities, and socioeconomic backgrounds. He worked as a Supervisor for Pitney Bowes in Detroit, Michigan and now works as a caregiver with patience and compassionate attitude.
